Privacy Policy

Last updated: March 21, 2026

Overview

Quetzly is a geospatial API testing and monitoring platform. This policy covers all Quetzly products: the Quetzly Validator Desktop application, the Quetzly Validator for Chrome browser extension, and the quetzly.com website.

We are committed to protecting your privacy. In short: we do not collect, sell, or share your personal data. The sections below describe exactly what each product does and does not do.

Quetzly Validator for Chrome (Chrome Extension)

The Quetzly Validator extension inspects ArcGIS REST Services pages directly in your browser.

  • What it accesses: The extension reads the URL of your active browser tab to detect whether you are on an ArcGIS REST Services page. This access happens only when you click the extension icon — no background tab monitoring occurs.
  • Network requests: When you click "Validate Services", the extension makes HTTP requests directly from your browser to the ArcGIS REST API endpoints visible in your tab (e.g. …/rest/services/MyService/FeatureServer?f=json). These requests go only to the ArcGIS server you are already browsing — no data is routed through Quetzly servers.
  • Local storage: Check results are stored temporarily in your browser's sessionStorage so that icons persist as you navigate between service pages within the same tab session. This data is local to your browser, never transmitted anywhere, and is cleared when the tab is closed.
  • What it does NOT do: The extension does not collect, transmit, or store any personal information, browsing history, or API response data on any external server. It does not use analytics, tracking pixels, or third-party services of any kind.

Quetzly Validator Desktop Application

The Quetzly Validator Desktop app runs locally on your machine and is used to test, monitor, and visualize geospatial API endpoints.

  • Local data: All endpoint configurations, saved sets, and test results are stored locally on your device. No data is uploaded to Quetzly servers.
  • Network requests: The app makes requests directly from your machine to the API endpoints you configure. These requests are initiated solely by you and go only to the servers you specify — not to Quetzly.
  • Beta feedback: If you choose to submit feedback through the app or website, that submission is voluntary and contains only what you choose to write.

Quetzly Website (quetzly.com)

  • Analytics: We may use privacy-respecting analytics to understand aggregate page traffic (e.g. page views, referral sources). No personally identifiable information is collected.
  • Newsletter / Beta signup: If you submit your email address to join the beta program or newsletter, that email is used only to send you Quetzly product updates. We do not sell or share your email with third parties.
  • Cookies: The website may use cookies strictly necessary for site operation (e.g. theme preference). No advertising or cross-site tracking cookies are used.

Data We Do Not Collect

Across all Quetzly products, we never collect:

  • Personal identifiers (name, address, phone number)
  • Financial information
  • Health or sensitive personal information
  • Browsing history outside of ArcGIS REST pages you actively inspect
  • Content of API responses from your GIS servers

Third-Party Services

Quetzly does not embed third-party advertising networks or sell data to data brokers. The website is hosted on Cloudflare Pages, which may process request metadata (IP address, user agent) as part of standard CDN operation, subject to Cloudflare's Privacy Policy.

Changes to This Policy

If this policy changes in a material way, we will update the "Last updated" date at the top of this page. Continued use of Quetzly products after any change constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
